The Chop Tops

The Chop Tops are a revved-up rockabilly band from Santa Cruz, California consisting of Sinner (vocals/standing drums), Shelby (guitar) and Brett (upright bass). The band coined the phrase "Revved-Up Rockabilly" to describe their wild, upbeat blend of rockabilly, psychobilly, old punk, teddy boy, and surf music genres. The Chop Tops headline their own national tours and have toured frequently with the Nekromantix. The band was formed by Sinner in 1995, Shelby joined in 1999, and Brett took over bass duties in 2008.

The Chop Tops have three of their songs featured in the video game called WET. Other accomplishments include performing at the 2006 and 2007 Warped ToursViva Las Vegas. The band is currently sponsored by Gretsch guitars and Murray's Pomade.the Stray Cats and the Chop Tops. as well as many years of playing the annual rockabilly festival Murray's has sponsored only two bands in its 84-year history,

"Chop top" refers to the practice of lowering the roof on the body of the vehicle by cutting portions of the frame and door frames and reinstalling custom glass for a custom look.
